Donor Spotlight: JPMorgan Chase

Since 1995, JPMorgan Chase has been a steadfast supporter of CitizensNYC, contributing to our mission of empowering residents to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods through grassroots initiatives. Thanks to JPMorgan Chase’s support of over $1.1M over the last three decades, community leaders and small business owners across the city have been able to create lasting, positive change in their neighborhoods from the ground up.

This past spring, we had the privilege of collaborating with Joy Butts, Senior Business Consultant, and Rocky Chowdhury, Community Manager, to host a two-part workshop series on educational resources for small business owners. One of the primary goals of these workshops was to empower our Neighborhood Business Grantees with the tools they need to not only sustain their businesses but also to innovate and grow.

In addition to the workshops, CitizensNYC grantees were hosted by Chase’s Harlem Community Center Branch for our final Manhattan Network Convening for the 2023 grant cohort. At the culmination of the quarterly convenings, grantees worked together to apply for the 2024 Collaborative Impact Grant – a grant program exclusive to current CitizensNYC grantees, encouraging them to find innovative ways to amplify their impact and strengthen their expanding network.

At CitizensNYC, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. Our partnership with JPMorgan Chase exemplifies this belief, as together, we work towards a shared vision of supporting local businesses and strengthening communities across New York City. Through initiatives like the workshop series, we are not only investing in the present success of small business owners but also laying the groundwork for a more resilient and inclusive economic future.

As we look ahead, we are excited about the possibilities that our partnership with JPMorgan Chase holds. By continuing to leverage our collective strengths and resources, we can expand our impact and empower even more individuals and businesses to thrive. Together with JPMorgan Chase and other valued partners, we are committed to building a brighter and more prosperous future for all New Yorkers.
