COVID-19 Conversation: August Edition
We heard from River Fields and Rusty Fields (Co-Presidents of 400 Bainbridge Street Block Association), Zion Baldwin (Student, Author, and All Star Code Alum), and Danny Rojas (Executive Director of All Star Code) on their experiences as men of color during the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter movement, and current political climate. When asked about what he’s doing to take action after the death of George Floyd, Rusty replied: “...double down on my efforts, on my schoolwork, my community work, not taking your foot off the pedal and getting comfortable, but keep applying the pressure…there is work to be done and everyone has their role and their part in the grander scheme…go full force forward to execute in the best of your ability.”

Here are some action steps our panelists recommended you can take to continue the conversation and support communities of color:
Fill out the census and encourage others do the same
Vote and help others register to vote
Support non-profits that positively impact communities of color
Allow space and time for people of color to practice self-care
We hope to see you at our next COVID-19 Conversations on Thursday, September 17th at 12 PM!
