Public School Green Team Grant

Citizens Committee is collaborating with the New York City Department of Sanitation to award grants of up to $1,000 for projects carried out by public school green teams. Examples of projects we will support include building or expanding a school garden, enhancing a school recycling program, creating school sustainability events, purchasing eco-friendly giveaway items, and providing uniforms/t-shirts for the Green Team.

Applications for the Fall 2018 Public School Green Team Grant will be available starting September 24th. Please check back then for important deadlines!

Application Instructions 

STEP 1

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applications are accepted from NYC public schools, grades K-12.
  • *Preference will be given to recycling and waste related projects.
  • Schools must have a Green Team, or be in the process of creating one.
  • Green Team must have at least five members.
  • Students must have a signed photo release.
  • A teacher is responsible for submitting the application and being the primary contact.
